So you’re going to Taipei. Congratulations! It’s an awesome place. Here are three hotels I would highly recommend. They are very comfortable, cheap, and in great locations. Of course there are cheaper places, whether an older hotel or even a hostel, but these are a great value for the money.
Ximen Citizen Hotel – Ximen District
This was our first hotel we stayed in, during our Chinese New Year vacation. Even during the holiday, the price was very reasonable! The room was very comfortable and the breakfast was a buffet style, full of delicious, hot food.
Ximending is a great area to explore, and this hotel is about a 10 minute walk from the Ximen MRT station.
Weekend nightly rates at around $2,000 NT ($70 USD)
Lacle Hotel – Luzhou District
This hotel is just a couple minutes walk from the Saint Ignatius High School MRT Stop. It is a very modern hotel and everything is really nice, clean, and comfortable. The breakfast was great. Tons of fresh fruit, juice, cereal, and you even get to order an American style or Japanese style plate for your main dish. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly, the hotel manager really went out of his way to make us feel welcome.
Weekend nightly rates seem to be around $2,000 NT a night. ($70 USD)
Tomorrow Hotel – Ximen District
We booked here last minute while passing through Taipei and found this hotel to be comfortable and cozy. The bottom floor is a 7-11 convenience store, so it makes it easy to run down and grab some snacks or drinks if you are hungry. This hotel is one of the most booked hotels in Taipei, and it is due to the fact of very cheap prices, and one of the best locations.
Rates as low as $1,500 per night even on the weekend! ($45 USD)
